Garbage Collection and Recycling

Wisconsin law requires recycling. All garbage collection is done in one day (Monday), except following Monday holidays, then Tuesday. Collectors start at the intersection of Spring Grove Road and County A at 7:00 a.m. and work around the lake in a clockwise direction.

  • Garbage must be placed in plastic bags to be picked up.

  • Bags containing recyclables will not be picked up.

  • Absolutely no yard waste in garbage.

Recycling can be contracted through Superior Services (800-387-0949) or dropped off at Town Recycling Centers (dates, times, locations below):

Sewer

  • Permit for sewer connection must be obtained from the Sanitary District and properly filled out at the time of connection/capping, inspection fee of $25.00.

  • Lateral permits are required for new and razed buildings.

  • Sewer user fee is billed quarterly.

Non-Sewered

Management Plan is in place for servicing on-site systems:

  • Septic tanks must be pumped (at a minimum) and inspected once every three years. District sends out cards.

  • Holding tanks must be pumped (at a minimum) and inspected once every two years. District sends out cards.

On-site and sewer systems rely on biological activities. Products that are detrimental (e.g., paints, chemicals, etc.) should not be put into your system.

All wastewater pumped from on-site systems must be hauled and processed at the Green Lake Sanitary District’s Wastewater  Treatment Plant located at N5295 County Hwy T, Princeton.

Town Hall South of Princeton on County Trunk D, 1st and 3rd Saturday 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.  920-295-5316

Weed Harvesting

Policy:

  • Weeds will not be harvested in front of your property unless the property owner specifically requests cutting.

  • Keep in mind that fertilizers on your lawn end up causing increased plant growth in the lake.

 Questions:

  • Call the District Office (920-295-4488) during office hours (8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.)
