Robert Thornton

Robert Shanley Thornton, 68, of 1302 W. Ajo Way, SP-162, Tucson, Ariz., died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1993, at La Colina, Nursing Home in Tucson. He was born April 23, 1925, in Los Angeles, a son of John S. and Marguerite Nunn Thornton. On May 9, 1952, he married Jeanette G. Hadaller in Fond du Lac: Mr. Thornton was raised in Fond du Lac and graduated from high school in 1942. He entered the service and was an aviation petty officer, 2nd Class, in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a tool and die maker for Hughes Aircraft prior to his illness.
Survivors include his wife ;two daughters, Diane Cook and her husband Robert of Euless, Texas, and Marikay Dewberry and her husband Donald *of DeSoto, Texas; two sons, Charles of Woodbury, Tenn., and Eric and his wife Betty of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and three sisters, Dorothy Wiener of North Fond du Lac, Rose Piper and her husband Wayne of Dallas, Tex., and Grace Jackson and her husband Gene of Quinlan, Texas
His parents and a brother, John, of Oshkosh, preceded him in death. . A memorial Mass will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 21, at St. Joseph's Church. The Rev. Pat Heppe will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
