Peter's family of origin lived in Neukirchen, but he apparently moved to Dom-Esch after his marriage, as all of his children were baptised there.
Peter's son, Jacob, said on his petition for U.S. citizenship that the family sailed from Bremen on May 29, 1855 and arrived at port of New York around July 5, 1855, but did not know the name of the ship.
