I work in technical support, and I answer many people's questions every day. I decided to make this website to help answer some of the more common questions and problems people have, and to collect the tools and utilities you can use to fix these problems into one easy-to-find area.

Spyware

Spyware is the most common problem Dotnet customers face. Spyware can get on your computer in many ways, and cause any kind of problem. There are many tools that will help you get the spyware back off as well.

To learn more, or get tools to clean spyware, visit the Spyware section.

Viruses

More people know how to protect their computer and keep themselves safe than in the past. Viruses are still a problem, and are still common on the Internet, but if you keep your virus protection current you should be Ok.

If you suspect you may have a virus, or for more information, visit my Virus section.

Spam

Junkmail makes up over half of the volume of email that traverses the Internet today, and that percentage is only rising. There are many ways spammers can get your email address, and no real way of getting 'off the list' once you get on.

For more information on ways to lessen or eliminate the spam you get, I created the Spam section to help.

Slow Connection

Does it take ages to fetch simple web pages? When you visit Dotnet's Homepage, does it take longer than 30 seconds to load? A working, stable modem connection should load our homepage in 10 to 15 seconds.

There are some things you can do, discussed on my Connection section. It's special because it rhymes!

Old Computer

Older computers, particularly ones purchased before 2000, can slow you down just by being... slow. Lack of memory (RAM) or storage (Hard Drive space) can cause problems even when everything is working.

I have recommendations on ways to patch up an old computer, including some fixes for Windows 95, in my Old Computer section.

Find a typo? Did an explanation not make sense? Have a question the FAQ did not answer? Tell me.
